HR Assistant

Job Description

The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support across a variety of Human Resources functions and serves as a key resource for employees, supervisors, and managers.

 

Hours: 10am-7:30pm

Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

 

Functions of the Position:

  • Serves as the first point of contact for employee relations inquiries and concerns at the HR front desk.
  • Documents employee interactions and communicates issues, concerns, and trends to the HR Manager.
  • Acts as a liaison between employees, supervisors, and managers to facilitate issue resolution and follow-up.
  • Routes employee concerns to Payroll, Benefits, Safety, or other appropriate departments for specialized assistance.
  • Assists with special projects and initiatives supporting Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Recruitment, and Safety functions.
  • Maintains accurate employee data and supports data integrity across all HR information systems.
  • Coordinates employee uniform ordering and tracking, safety shoe programs, and other HR-related administrative processes.
  • Creates and manages identification badges for employees, temporary workers, and contractors using security access software.
  • Maintains accurate access records and assists with badge-related requests and updates.

 

Education, Experience, and Knowledge

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience required.
  • Prior experience or exposure to Human Resources, Accounts Payable, or general office administration preferred.

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively support and collaborate with operations personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

The starting hourly range for this position is $18.00-$23.43. The hourly rate offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for performance-based incentives subject to the terms of the underlying plan.
