What You'll Do

As an Operator in Training, you'll work alongside experienced utility professionals to learn the day-to-day operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment systems. Responsibilities may include:
  • Assisting with the operation of water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Monitoring equipment, pumps, meters, and system performance
  • Collecting samples and recording operational data
  • Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Identifying and reporting equipment issues or operational concerns
  • Supporting regulatory compliance and safety initiatives
  • Participating in on-the-job training and certification programs
  • Responding to operational needs and working as part of a collaborative team

What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Basic computer and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical job duties
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
