In this role, you'll conduct essential laboratory testing, support compliance with environmental regulations, and help protect public health every day.
What You'll DoAs a Lab Technician, you'll perform a variety of chemical, physical, and bacteriological analyses on water, wastewater, and industrial samples. Your work will directly support regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
You will: - Perform laboratory testing such as BOD, COD, pH, chlorine residuals, turbidity, coliform testing, and more
- Analyze and interpret results while ensuring accuracy and quality control
- Maintain detailed records including lab results, calibrations, maintenance logs, and chain of custody documentation
- Prepare reagents and manage chemical inventory
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure reliable performance
- Support state certification requirements through proper documentation and quality practices
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to a safe, compliant work environment
What You Bring - We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to learn.
Required: - High school diploma or GED (coursework in chemistry, biology, or math preferred)
Valid driver's license - Willingness to work rotating weekends and on-call shifts
- Possess or obtain Water/Wastewater Lab Analyst Certification within 1 year
Knowledge & Skills: - Familiarity with lab techniques and water testing methods
- Experience with lab equipment such as spectrometers, pH meters, incubators, and analytical balances
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and quality
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently
Physical Requirements - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and climbing
- Capable of working in confined spaces and handling lab/field equipment
