Description:
The Program Manager is responsible for the daily operations for University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) Pearland campus, including community outreach, program information and resources, and event management. Reports directly to AVP/COO Pearland and assists with developing, planning and implementing educational, cultural and special events and projects including logistical arrangements. this position is located at the UHCL Pearland campus.
Duties: - Cultivates/expands partnerships in communities, organizations, businesses, chambers of commerce and EDCs (Economic Development Corporations/Committees).
- Develops and implements educational, cultural, special events and projects, including logistical arrangements.
- Manages accounting operations of the department (procurement, travel, AP, AR and general accounting-related issues).
- Coordinates on-campus student activities with Enrollment Management and Student Services staff and administrators.
- Assists in the preparation and management of Pearland Campus Operations' budgets throughout the year.
- Represents the COO at events in her absence or by request when necessary and performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or closely related field.
- Minimum five years of experience in community relations, event management and business operations.
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working in higher education.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Organizational/management skills including budget, planning, assessment, and marketing.
- Knowledge and understanding of group dynamics, with the ability to lead and oversee the activities of others.
- Ability to execute financial and technical operations in a university environment.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficiency in People-soft financial system.
- Ability to communicate effectively through strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize time and tasks, often handling multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Ability to solve multi-layered problems through attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to support faculty, staff, students, and public in a campus/community leadership role.
