Job Description

EveryChild California is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to advancing equitable access to early childhood education. We are seeking a qualified consultant with deep expertise in California’s center-based subsidized early education programs, specifically the California State Preschool Program (CSPP) and General Child Care (CCTR) operated in community based settings, to support the development and facilitation of training and technical assistance for our membership community.

Scope of Work

The selected consultant will:

  • Design and develop training materials (e.g., presentations, handouts, toolkits) related to the contractual components of CSPP, CCTR and administrative needs of Community-Based Organizations.

  • Co-facilitate virtual and/or in-person trainings for early education professionals and administrators.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on the implementation and compliance requirements of CSPP and CCTR contracts, including but not limited to:

    • Contract management and reporting

    • Program Quality Components

    • Child Care Center Administration (Operational & Financial Leadership, Staff Management, Compliance and Safety, Family & Community Relations, etc)

    • Fiscal Reporting and Reimbursement

    • Enrollment, Need, and Eligibility 

  • Support the creation of user-friendly resources to support agencies in navigating CSPP and CCTR requirements.

  • Collaborate with EveryChild California staff to ensure alignment with organizational goals and audience needs.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in California’s subsidized early education system, particularly CSPP and CCTR in a Community Based Organization setting.

  • In-depth knowledge of contract compliance requirements for CSPP and CCTR.

  • Experience developing and delivering professional development or technical assistance.

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in leadership of center-based early education programs run by Community-based Organizations.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

  • Availability for sporadic travel in California to co-facilitate live.
