Job Description
This position gathers, organizes and statistically analyzes research data. The position determines data requirements, designs data collection tools, constructs and manages databases, conducts statistical analysis of data, and reports results. The position participates in development of research policies and practices in a specialty such as health care, public health, educational programs, educational administration, behavioral science, mental health, or social science. Duties include use of specific statistical analysis software such as SAS or SPSS and may include SQL or other programming. This position may act as a data consultant to several research studies. This work meets the FLSA criteria for a professional exemption by performing work that is primarily intellectual in character that requires a prolonged period of academic preparation. This work is distinguished from Social and Behavioral Researcher by its emphasis on complex data manipulation using statistical software. The work is distinguished from a Statistical Data Analysis Manager or higher level researcher since it is not responsible for setting overall research direction, or coordinating or supervising the work of other Statistical Data Analysts. Work does not require a Ph.D. Statistical Data Analysts use primarily data design and statistical techniques rather than other scientific duties such as searching literature, conducting field interviews, writing training manuals, or drafting final project reports.\r\n\r\nMINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a field directly related to the research or data analysis responsibilities and a minimum of one year of research experience; or a Master's degree in one of the same fields. Progressively responsible work experience may substitute for the college on a year for year basis.

• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
PREFERRED:
A Master's degree in higher education, social science, educational research, applied statistics or relevant discipline. At least three years of demonstrated high-level proficiency in applied statistical research and data analysis, preferably in a higher education setting. Experience with enrollment planning & management, modeling, forecasting. Knowledge of traditional functional areas in enrollment management.
Experience with predictive modeling. Creating, maintaining and analyzing operational and longitudinal reporting. High level technical skills and advanced practical experience in statistical data packages (SAS, SPSS, R), data analysis and data management (Excel) experience, database software packages (Access, Oracle), and SQL.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the university, particularly the ability to distill and convey research findings clearly and concisely to multiple audiences and stakeholders, as well as in appropriate forums (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and activities independently, frequently on tight deadlines, yet maintaining the highest standard of research and data quality. 2- 3 years of supervisory experience.Working at USF
