The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Villanova University invites applications for a tenure track position in Statistics with the rank of Assistant Professor. The position begins in August 2027. The teaching load is 12 credits for the first year, with a standard load of 15 credits per year thereafter. Candidates from all areas of statistics and data science are invited to apply.

Join a dynamic group of 15 statisticians and data scientists with research interests spanning applied and theoretical fields! Our program features a well-established MS in Applied Statistics and Data Science and an undergraduate major and minor in statistics. We are particularly interested in expanding our data science offerings to meet increasing student demand at all levels. Graduates of our program pursue careers in industries including healthcare, business, sports, consulting, and education. Some also pursue further degrees in statistics, data science, or a related field.

Our department currently has 46 full-time faculty members in mathematics and statistics. Villanova values excellence in teaching, supporting it through teaching development and grant opportunities as well as small class sizes. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses in statistics and/or data science at the introductory, upper division, and graduate levels.
  • Establish and maintain a research program in your area of expertise.
  • Be an active member of the department, the Villanova community, and the profession.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. (completed before Fall 2027) in statistics, data science, or a related field.
  • Commitment to excellence in both teaching and research.
