Receptionist and Safety Monitor

Friends Select School is seeking a friendly, reliable, and safety-conscious Receptionist and Safety Monitor to help maintain a welcoming and secure school environment. This part-time position will serve as a key point of contact for students, families, employees, and visitors during afternoon and early evening hours. 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:30PM - 6:00PM when School is in session. Additional hours may be available in the evening and on weekends occasionally.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist students, families, employees, and visitors

• Monitor the school entrance and manage visitor access in accordance with school safety protocols

• Screen and direct visitors and oversee security camera feeds

• Maintain knowledge of school programs, personnel, scheduled events, and emergency procedures to appropriately direct visitors

• Support afternoon dismissal and other school events as needed

• Respond appropriately to safety, security, emergency, and medical situations

• Report facility or safety concerns to the appropriate person

• Perform basic reception and administrative duties as directed by the Supervisor

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required

• Experience in security, facilities management, or operations 

• Friendly, professional, and attentive

• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

• Familiarity with safety protocols and emergency procedures

• Ability to monitor security systems and enforce visitor policies

• Proficiency in basic computer applications and administrative tasks

• Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently or with others

This is a part-time hourly position. The pay range for this position is $20-$23 per hour.
