Job Summary:
The Credit Union Manager will oversee daily operations, workflow, and other activities in the credit union, advancing the customer service and financial objectives of the organization through strategic programs and policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the daily activities of the Member Services Representative and Loan Specialist
  • Ensures that Credit Union is staffed appropriately.
  • Evaluates and provides coaching to staff

    Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of member requests for new/closure of accounts, loans, withdrawals, and deposits to ensure accurate and timely processing of requests protecting the assets of the member and the Credit Union.
  • Plans, recommends, develops, and implements policies and programs to advance the objectives and decisions of the Credit Union board of directors.
  • Leads and coordinates major activities, programs, and projects of the credit union staff.
  • Ensures that appropriate safeguard measures are implemented for all funds, physical assets, and other property; leads appropriate corrective responses to security concerns and emergency situations.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs membership promotions and education/marketing programs in conjunction with the Credit Union board; evaluates membership promotions and makes recommendations to fulfill membership goals.
  • Conducts, requests, or facilitates surveys and other data collection to measure customer satisfaction and other quality and performance metrics.
  • Develops and maintains personal relationships with credit union members to the greatest degree possible; manages member complaints.
  • Establishes and administers the credit unions budget including oversight of operating expense payment requests.
  • Facilitates and assists with internal or external audits.
  • Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, standards, and best practices including completion and maintenance of documentation and records.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in credit unions.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Credit Union board.
  • Oversight of 3rd party vendor relationships impacting Credit Union Protection, Credit Disability, and Credit Life Insurance.
  • Conducts late payment and outstanding check reviews to ensure proper processing and communication to members.
  • Oversight of investment portfolios, balances, and certificates. Routinely monitoring interest rates and terms of individual accounts.
  • Oversight of loan default, levies, collection, bankruptcy, and repossession reviews insuring proper procedures are followed.
  • Prepares daily, monthly and year end reports (Organizational, Federal, State)
  • Prepares and processes quarterly statements of members
  • Monthly uploads to credit reporting agencies
  • Notifies State of unclaimed property as required by the State Treasurer of Mississippi
  • Prepares financial packets monthly for Board Members
  • Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
  • Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statuesKnow How

    Job Knowledge:                   

    Specify required education, licensure/certification, prior experience, skill behavior, equipment operation, type and duration of on-the-job training, patient population to be served, etc.
    • Associate’s Degree in Finance, Banking or related field; required.  Bachelor’s degree. Preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Banking, Finance, or Credit Union; required
    • Minimum of 1 year of Supervisory experience; required
    • Knowledge and understanding of various State/Federal Laws regarding credit; required
    • Excellent credit history (700+); required
    • Excellent customer service skills; required
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills; required
    • Good negotiation skills; required
    • Knowledge of basic computer hardware/software and office equipment; required
      • Training is given on the Cubic’s System
    • Knowledge of basic mathematical skills; required
    • Excellent interpersonal skills; required
