Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
| Essential Functions | - Performs tree trimming and removal.
- Assists with landscaping projects to include fertilizing and mulching trees, shrubs, and landscape beds.
- Removes and properly disposes trimmings and other landscape debris.
- Works on various grounds construction projects and assists other departments on various projects to include pouring and forming concrete, installing brick, concrete block, and pavers, installing retaining walls, footings, curbs, gutters, benches, and related structures.
- Performs excavation, sod and dirt work.
- Assists with grounds maintenance as needed.
- Operates light and medium duty equipment to include tractors, bobcat, trenchers, lull-lift, and loaders.
- Utilizes a chainsaw for tree projects.
- Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and vehicles.
- Assists moves materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Utilizes a University vehicle to travel to various work sites.
- May assist other departments (such as Plumbing, Electrical, Maintenance, and Central Utilities) with projects as needed.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
- Related duties as required.
