Parts Manager IV

Job Description

Primary Function

The Parts Manager IV provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for a large, complex Parts operation or multiple branch locations within an assigned region or business unit. This role is accountable for driving operational excellence, financial performance, inventory optimization, customer satisfaction, workforce development, and continuous improvement across multiple locations and functional teams. The position partners with Regional Parts Management and cross-functional business leaders to implement operational strategies, standardize best practices, improve organizational performance, and support sustainable business growth. The Parts Manager IV fosters a culture of safety, accountability, customer focus, and operational excellence while ensuring consistent execution of company objectives and delivering exceptional customer support across the assigned area of responsibility.

Essential Duties

Parts Operations
  • Direct operational activities across multiple branch locations, departments, or large, complex business operations
  • Align operational priorities, staffing, and resources to support regional and divisional business objectives
  • Establish operational standards and ensure consistent execution of business processes across assigned locations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, productivity, inventory performance, and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions to improve business results
  • Direct parts distributions to other branches and facilitate night shift.


Financial Performance and Business Growth

  • Maintain accountability for the financial performance of assigned operations, including revenue growth, gross margin, inventory investment, operating expenses, and profitability
  • Develop operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial objectives that support regional business goals
  • Monitor key operational and financial performance indicators and implement strategies to improve business performance
  • Identify opportunities to increase market share, strengthen customer relationships, improve operational efficiency, and support long-term growth
  • Support regional initiatives that improve profitability and organizational effectiveness


Customer Experience and Operational Excellence

  • Promote a customer-focused culture that consistently delivers responsive, accurate, and value-added support
  • Partner with Sales, Service, Product Support, and Supply Chain to ensure an integrated customer support experience
  • Resolve complex customer, operational, and business issues while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Oversee inventory planning, procurement, distribution, and fulfillment activities to maximize availability, inventory turns, and service levels
  • Ensure operational processes support efficient workflow, inventory accuracy, and timely customer response


Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, and employees across multiple locations or operational functions
  • Build organizational capability through workforce planning, succession planning, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and accountability to achieve business objectives
  • Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the organization
  • Ensure employees have the training, tools, and resources necessary to support operational excellence and customer success


Operational Governance and Regional Alignment

  • Promote compliance with company policies, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures
  • Ensure accurate reporting, inventory integrity, operational controls, and stewardship of company assets and resources
  • Partner with Regional Parts Management and cross-functional leaders to align operational priorities, resolve business challenges, and support enterprise initiatives
  • Lead operational planning efforts and implement standardized processes that improve consistency and organizational effectiveness across assigned operations
  • Serve as a trusted operational leader by supporting regional objectives, driving accountability, and reinforcing a culture of safety, integrity, and continuous improvement


Compliance, Safety, and Enterprise Alignment

  • Promote and enforce compliance with company policies, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures
  • Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, operational controls, and business process execution
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support enterprise objectives, operational effectiveness, and business growth
  • Maintain stewardship of company assets, facilities, inventory, equipment, and operational resources
  • Support leadership initiatives and organizational priorities through effective communication and collaboration


Minimum Requirements

Education

High school graduate; bachelor's degree/community/technical college graduate in business or similar field preferred.

Work Experience

  • 5-7+ years parts sales experience in OEM or similar market; 2+ years must be with Gregory Poole Equipment Company and/or Caterpillar.
  • Leadership experience managing multi-site operations with financial / business acumen and industry experience (Caterpillar, equipment, generators, compressors, etc.).


Physical

  • Must be able to work for long periods using a computer and telephone.
  • Must be able to fill in for unloading trucks, stock inventory and fill customer orders (walking, lifting, stooping, etc.).
  • Ability to travel as needed across branch locations.


Other

  • Mechanical experience is preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations, business units, customer segments, or operational functions preferred.
  • Experience within equipment, construction, power generation, transportation, industrial, manufacturing, or distribution industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong operational, financial, and business acumen.
  • Strong leadership, communication, customer relationships, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, interpret business trends, and make sound business decisions.
  • Proficiency in business systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
