Essential Role Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Independently performs basic and advanced repairs from start to finish in a timely manner utilizing the automated Maintenance Request System.
Acting as part of a team, demonstrates knowledge of tasks and ability to assist at all campuses.
Demonstrates ability to safety use all hand, power tools and testing equipment needed for repairs.
Follows directions and independently performs tasks required with construction and renovation projects in a safe and efficient manner.
Accurately reading blue prints or schematic drawings, performs duties required with little or no supervision.
Able to perform campus specific duties and requirements when working at each site.
Demonstrates ability to set priorities.
Record Keeping Responsibilities: responsible to assist in record keeping
Retrieves and closes out work orders from the computer system in an accurate and timely manner.
Recognizes and maintains stock and supplies needed in a proactive manner with consideration given to cost, supply, demand and frequency of use.
Tracks tasks completed daily on construction and renovation projects.
Policy and Procedure Responsibilities: aware of and follows policy and procedure in order to maintain a safe and clean environment.
Responds safely and appropriately to Utility Impairments, Weather Emergencies and other Emergency situations.
Performs all duties utilizing workplace safety and cleanliness guidelines at all sites.
Adheres to departmental policy, procedures and protocols in performance of duties.
Developmental Responsibilities: Works as a member of the Plant Operations team promoting excellence in maintaining the environment of care.
Participates in opportunities to advance skill level through on-the-job training or other appropriate avenues.
Attends mandatory department programs, in-services and meetings as requested.
Acts as a role model and seeks opportunities to improve level of service provided to all hospital departments.
Participates in the orientation of new employees.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Graduate or equivalent with Technical School training preferred.
Experience
Minimum 4 years previous general maintenance or construction work.
Knowledge of healthcare setting and ability to read blueprints or schematic drawings desirable.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Certification/License
Current Massachusetts driver’s license required.
Special Operator’s License must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Operator’s License will include:
Periodic checks of the boiler and sign-off of an active operator’s log
Checks are to take place at least once every 2 hours
A boiler blow down test is to be performed at least once per shift
Pay Range:
$25.00 - $35.00The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
Anna Jaques Hospital is a 123 bed community hospital serving 17 cities and towns in the Merrimack Valley . The hospital offers a wide range of acute care services to meet the needs of our growing patient population including inpatient and outpatient surgery in fully digitized computerized operating room suites, cardiology including echocardiography and a cardiac cath lab, comprehensive cancer services, orthopedics, nuclear medicine, laboratory, noninvasive vascular lab, joint replacement program and birth center.

The hospitals Non Invasive Vascular laboratory was accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL).
For the second year in a row, the American Association for Respiratory Care awarded the hospital its Quality Respiratory Care Recognition. The hospital had no ventilator acquired pneumonia cases during the last year.
The Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center is the only such center to receive full accreditation from the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) in Massachusetts .
