Sr Engineering Manager

Job Description

As a Sr Engineering Manager here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in providing engineering support for various projects and initiatives. You will lead and manage a team of engineers, ensuring the successful execution of engineering support activities and the delivery of high-quality solutions.

You will report directly to our leadership team and you’ll work out of our Puerto Rico location on an On-site work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the success of our engineering support operations. You will be responsible for managing a team of support specialists, providing guidance and support to resolve complex customer issues, and driving improvements in our support processes.

Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of Systems, Software, Verification, and Project Engineers to successfully execute engineering programs and initiatives.
  • Establish clear objectives, priorities, and performance expectations while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute program plans.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams in solving complex program, system-level and software engineering challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering processes, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Serve as a key interface with customers, stakeholders, suppliers, and senior leadership to communicate program status, risks, and technical solutions.
  • Oversee software development activities utilizing Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies (amongst others) where applicable.
  • Lead technical reviews including PDR, CDR, TRR, and other lifecycle milestone reviews.
  • Drive innovation initiatives involving digital engineering, artificial intelligence, automation, cloud technologies, and advanced software development practices.
  • Support proposal development, business growth initiatives, technical volume preparation, and customer pursuits.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action activities for complex technical issues while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and lessons learned.
  • Foster collaboration across global engineering teams and centers of excellence to leverage technical expertise and standardize engineering practices.
  • Champion Honeywell values and cultivate a high-performance, customer-focused engineering culture.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, diversity, inclusion, and professional development initiatives.
  • Promote innovation, knowledge sharing, and the adoption of emerging technologies and engineering tools.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders while ensuring delivery of high-quality products and solutions that exceed expectations.


Qualifications
US PERSON REQUIREMENT
  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in engineering support or related roles
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Experience with quality standards and regulatory requirements in aerospace engineering
  • Proficiency in engineering tools and software relevant to aerospace projects
