Wastewater Operator (All Levels)We're seeking a Wastewater Operator to help operate and maintain essential treatment facilities that protect public health and the environment. What You'll DoAs a Wastewater Operator, you'll play a critical role in keeping our facilities running safely and efficiently. In this role, you will:
- Operate and monitor treatment equipment including pumps, motors, valves, belt presses, and disinfection systems
- Perform routine process checks, sampling, and basic lab testing to ensure compliance and performance
- Conduct preventive maintenance and assist with repairs on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
- Track and document plant performance, including flows, chemical usage, and system data
- Respond to after-hours calls and emergency situations to keep operations running smoothly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure facility environment
- Support customer service needs as required
What You BringWe're looking for someone dependable, safety-focused, and eager to learn.
Key qualifications:
- Willingness and ability to obtain water/wastewater certification
- Basic knowledge of maintenance, process control, or mechanical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of safety practices and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous water/wastewater experience is a plus—but not required
What You Need - High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred)
- Operator certification (or ability to obtain based on role and location)
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry, internet use)
Work Environment & Schedule - Willingness to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations
Active, hands-on role requiring: - Lifting up to 50-60 lbs
- Climbing stairs and ladders
- Working in confined spaces and outdoor conditions
