Project EngineerPosition SummaryThe Project Engineer is responsible for managing engineering projects related to new equipment installations, process improvements, equipment modifications, and operational troubleshooting. This role provides hands-on technical support and engineering expertise to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while delivering long-term value to the plant.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives.
- Provide technical expertise and problem-solving support to plant operations and maintenance teams.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets; track costs and ensure projects are delivered at or below approved budgets.
- Prepare and submit justification and obtain approval for any anticipated budget overruns prior to exceeding authorized spend.
- Partner with vendors and contractors to develop cost-effective, reliable engineering solutions.
- Procure materials and services to support timely project execution.
- Evaluate project execution to ensure compliance with safety standards and that all personnel are adequately protected.
- Coordinate and monitor contractor activities, verifying progress, quality of work, and costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional plant departments to identify, design, and implement improvement projects.
- Schedule and coordinate internal labor and maintenance resources for projects and equipment overhauls.
- Identify and report potential operating issues affecting safety, environmental compliance, production, or waste.
- Support maintenance teams in resolving operational and equipment-related issues.
- Communicate project status, timelines, and requirements to management and key stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including updating existing drawings and creating new drawings as required.
Education & Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
- 3-5 years of engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong project planning and execution skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, SAP, Maximo, and AutoCAD.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- PMP certification preferred.
