| Position Summary: | The Graphic Designer will provide strong visual designs to meet the marketing and communication needs of the Office of University Advancement, responsible for the University’s overall fundraising, stewardship and alumni/donor engagement initiatives as Villanova embarks on the public phase of its Comprehensive Campaign. This individual will report to the Art Director and work closely with the Marketing and Advancement Communication teams to design brand-aligned materials for print and digital executions that include solicitations, proposals, stewardship reports, social media and web graphics, event collateral, and PowerPoint presentations, among others. All materials must represent and reinforce overall University Advancement messages and key capital campaign messages, while adhering to and strengthening the University’s brand and reputation for both internal and external audiences. This position has funding for a 19-month period.

| Duties and Responsibilities: | - Provides visual designs that meet the marketing and communication goals of University Advancement, with a primary focus on materials supporting Villanova’s upcoming capital campaign. These include an array of print and digital graphic design projects to support the various departments within Advancement, including Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Athletics Development, Special Events, and Regional Development, as well as the University’s six schools and colleges.
- Under the direct supervision of the Art Director, this individual will work closely with the Marketing and University Advancement Communication teams to design materials that represent and reinforce overall University Advancement messages and key campaign messages, while adhering to and strengthening the University’s brand and reputation for both internal and external audiences. Must have strong ability to present design solutions to others.
- Maintains a productive and collaborative relationship with University Advancement Communication, understanding the purpose, audience, usage and distribution for each project to ensure visually appealing and effective Advancement materials.
- Manages the design project workflow from concept through production, adhering to specified and agreed upon timelines and budgets. Works closely with the Project and Production Management team to complete administrative design tasks according to department standards, which include daily schedule updates in design job tracking system (FileMaker) as well as necessary production, preparation and project archiving. Maintains knowledge of industry trends, with willingness to learn new technical skills as needed.
- Performs other duties and assists with projects as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications: | Formal Education - Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field required or an equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered.
Work Experience
- At least 3 years of graphic design experience, to include experience as a member of a design agency or in-house graphic design team.
- Portfolio of creative work demonstrating understanding of both print and digital design, and production skills.

- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment with frequent deadlines.
- Team player with strong creative, conceptual, decision-making and communication skills.
- Flexible, upbeat, energetic self-starter who enjoys collaboration with a wide variety of constituencies.

Specific Job Knowledge
- Proven knowledge of and experience with all methods, principles, procedures, and techniques, in both traditional and digital graphic design, production design, and photographic design treatments.
- Proven experience working with and adhering to brand guidelines.
- Demonstrated and thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and general Mac operating system.
- Must understand and be familiar with all phases of print production from concept through completion, including prepress techniques, equipment, and software. Must be proficient in preparing files for commercial printing.
- Experienced in project management software to track projects and hours.

| Preferred Qualifications: | Work Experience - Experience working with or within an academic, fundraising, or non-profit environment is preferred.
Specific Job Knowledge - Experience creating digital and motion graphics utilizing programs such as Adobe Animate, Adobe Express and or Adobe After Effects is a plus.

| Salary Posting Information: | This position falls within salaried grade 14 and the range is $57,200-71,500. The final salary will be determined with consideration of several factors including the selected candidate’s qualifications, department budget availability, market data, and internal equity. |
