Advanced Project Engineer

Job Description

As an Advanced Project Engineer here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage complex engineering projects that drive innovation and operational excellence within the Aerospace business unit. You will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met, while delivering high-quality results that enhance our aerospace solutions.

You will report directly to our Project Engineering Manager.

In this role, you will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers, as part of the Supplier Readiness Organization. You will contribute to business success of Honeywell Aerospace by developing alternative sources for the ISC procurement of parts. You have responsibility of proposing plans that add value to Honeywell and follow the plans through the transition cycle of the assigned parts. Stakeholder engagement across the value stream is a key requirement.



Responsibilities
  • Own and drive Honeywell engineering effort required to qualify new suppliers for Honeywell designs
  • Own and execute technical interface with suppliers, assuring that they understand our requirements and assisting them to succeed
  • Lead and manage complex engineering projects from initiation to completion.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Assess and communicate technical risks
  • Ensure qualification and transition plans for transitioned parts are executed per plan
  • Provide on-site supplier visits (travel is required and status
  • Research current part history, defects, drawing deficiencies.
  • Identify and evaluate potential supplier capabilities


Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, engineering or mathematics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or related roles
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with a proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Technical expertise in aerospace engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in risk management and problem-solving.

  • Experience in the design, development, test, qualification and certification of Aircraft systems, components and/or propulsion systems
  • Understanding of basic export regulations


US PERSON REQUIREMENT

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

The annual base salary range for this position in the state of California is $110,000- $138,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
