Job Description

The Assistant Director of CON Marketing develops and executes integrated marketing strategies that elevate the reputation of the USF College of Nursing and drive targeted audiences to take intended actions. This role provides day-to-day leadership and execution of marketing initiatives, including social media, digital marketing, website management, content marketing, and external events. The Assistant Director also leads enrollment marketing efforts in close partnership with the Office of Student Affairs, working to develop a deep understanding of the prospective student journey and helping to increase enrollment through engaging communication streams.

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Assistant Director works collaboratively to execute the vision outlined in the Office of Marketing and Communications strategic plan and to advance the College's institutional priorities.Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of four years of related exempt experience, including two years of supervisory experience.

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.
• Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
• SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
• A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
• (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
• (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
• (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;
• (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
• (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Familiarity with CRM or marketing automation platforms.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SEO, paid digital advertising, and web analytics tools.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to foster teamwork. Decision-making skills, leadership skills, and detail-oriented.
  • Performs work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lead project teams and consistently meet deliverable deadlines.
  • Extensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles.
  • Performs complex tasks typically following established processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; focused on customer and client satisfaction.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.


Working Conditions
  • Environment - Typical indoor environment/office setting.
  • Physical Requirements - climbing, standing, stooping, and/or typing; Ability to lift up to 20lbs as needed.
  • Travel - Ability to travel to other USF campuses and/or other locations as requested.

  • Develops and implements comprehensive marketing plans - including audience identification, strategy, and tactics - aligned with the College of Nursing's and Office of Marketing and Communications' strategic plans.
  • Uses data, analytics, and KPIs consistently to inform decision-making, measure performance, and improve outcomes.
  • Oversees, trains, and mentors staff responsible for content development, digital marketing, email marketing, website management, and external events. Provides performance evaluations and professional development opportunities.
  • Conducts market assessments to identify opportunities to strengthen and differentiate the College of Nursing brand.
  • Works with the Director of Communications to develop marketing strategies that enhance the College's reputation and support enrollment growth through content, events, paid advertising, promotional items, and related tactics. Must have a strong understanding of CRM and marketing automation platforms used for student recruitment.
  • Leads the development of a content marketing strategy incorporating photography, videography, blogs, web articles, and other digital assets to achieve strategic goals.
  • Evaluates website performance using analytics and provides recommendations for continuous improvement. Must have a strong understanding of SEO and best practices.
  • Identifies key external events and conferences relevant to the College of Nursing and develops plans to elevate brand presence through faculty participation, advertising opportunities, and promotional efforts.
  • Manages relationships with external agencies and vendors supporting media buys, digital advertising (e.g., paid search and paid social), out-of-home marketing, and other initiatives.
  • Oversees marketing operations, including project timelines, vendor coordination, and execution of communication campaigns.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports on the effectiveness of marketing and communication initiatives and provides data-driven recommendations.
  • Works with appropriate partners to manage marketing project budgets within established guidelines.
  • Collaborates closely with College of Nursing stakeholders and partners across USF Health and the university.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
