Honeywell's Field Service Technicians are responsible for effectively providing services to support the on-site installation, upgrades, start-up, maintenance, and operation of automation control systems & advanced manufacturing software applications, drive systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks and the individual products which comprise these systems.

You will focus on providing customers with maintenance and modernization services on Honeywell's QCS (90% of the time) and EPKS/DCS (10% of the time) Platforms. The role requires you to be self-supporting and includes a ROCC (Regional Operations Collaboration Center) Engineer's responsibilities, on-site maintenance, performing system diagnostics & analysis, troubleshooting problems, installing new systems & replacing parts.

12-month Honeywell Training & Certification Program:

  • Commitment of 12 months to obtain and maintain L2-3 CEATs (QCS L2 and L3 X 2) certification while performing normal job duties.


  • Up to 75% travel depending on local customer site activities.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • ROCC Engineer will review and tracking of bulletins, notifications, advisories, and presenting recommendations based on current systems release and applicability; listing of performance monitoring alerts; share relevant best practices (may be in Program Reports); Technology Roadmap indicating support status changes for all included scope, recommended refreshes/upgrades and associated timing; last time buy notifications to be explicitly reported together with a recommendation for the number of spares.


  • ROCC Engineer will visit the Duluth GA site quarterly to review the growth plan for the business supporting and selling these items for the branch: ROCC labor (their own services as remote site lead), ASG labor and services, QCS 4.0 monitoring, PMtool tracking, Digital Twin, Training in Duluth, Systems Staging (FAT).


  • Grow/optimize remote support capabilities for customer sites.


  • QCS specific project assistance; hardware and software. Experion MX or MxProline system migrations.


  • Retain and develop high quality talent by humbly mentoring peers.


  • Support machine outages for Honeywell QCS customer sites.


  • Provide ongoing support for Honeywell control systems installed at the customer sites throughout the mid-west and west.


  • Call coverage and support for FSEs supporting larger local contracts (Cloquet, Green Bay, Menasha, Cedar Rapids).


  • Handle customer service-related issues while fostering the customer relationship and working to solve technical problems on site.


  • Deal directly with and communicate effectively with plant operators, plant management, 3rd party vendors and other Honeywell personnel in support of service operations


  • Collaborate with Honeywell's Global Technical Assistance Center to implement solutions for the installed base where applicable.


  • Perform scheduled maintenance and ad-hoc work on Honeywell hardware and software following procedures and schedules.


  • Troubleshoot and analyze issues under both normal and abnormal conditions.


  • When required, play an active role in various projects such as upgrades, new installations or new functionality for customers.


  • Work with contractors to review and ensure the unit/package is installed to specifications.


  • Coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitments


  • Ensure regular updates of antivirus software across all Honeywell EPKS customer sites.


  • Ensure regular Windows OS updates across all Honeywell EPKS customer sites.


  • Perform standby duties (on-call) and respond to callouts as required by procedure.


  • Create and maintain backups for servers and workstations.


  • Sustain proficiency in all products and services that the company offers. This includes staying current with installation standard methodologies, equipment protocol, and safety guidelines.


  • Support plant outages for Honeywell EPKS customer sites.


  • Provide on-site pre-start-up, start-up, contracted service work, warranty, troubleshooting, and training of Honeywell products, and ensure equipment is operational and free of defects.


  • Accurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility and/or project staging area. Professionally document work completed on periodic preventive maintenance as well as intermittent corrective maintenance tasks.


  • Complete monthly preventative system maintenance checklists on time.


  • Prepare monthly reports using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


  • Review product prints and specifications.


  • Perform the Honeywell behaviors driving growth though Honeywell's evolution.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • High School Diploma


  • 3 years of professional experience in an engineering or technical field/and or Military experience in electronics programs may be considered equivalent to this typical qualification.


  • 3 years of experience using Basic Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications


  • Valid driver's license


  • Continuously pass customer's background checks and random drug testing.

    *Engineering or technical fields may include field service, technical operations, industrial maintenance, process automation, heavy manufacturing, prior military experience, development and/or reliability engineering, etc.


  • Must be able to walk and stand 8 hours per day.


  • Ability to work safely within the Honeywell/Customer HSE requirements.


  • Technical expertise in system hardware and software.


  • Familiarity with Honeywell products and systems.


  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.


  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.


  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.


  • Commitment to obtain and maintain Quantity of 2 - L3 CEAT certifications within 12 months of hire (Training is given to achieve this)


  • Experience with industrial process control field instrumentation

  • Previous experience working in a Field Service Technician position
