JOB DESCRIPTION

Project Manager, Generation Services

Salary Grade: G06
Minimum  Midpoint  Maximum
$82,463 - $111,325 - $140,187

SUMMARY: 

Analyzes, and provides technical support to internal and external organizations focusing on Fuels, Water, and Generation regulatory matters.  Guides initiatives and/or special projects in support of Generation's long term goals. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Manages monthly budget process for department, projects, and/or services contracts 

Analyzes, reviews, tracks and reconciles costs/invoices 

Prepares and presents budget reports to appropriate governance bodies and/or leadership 

Prepares and adjusts budgets and performs year end closing 

Prepares and edits scope of work, contract terms, requirements, and professional services agreements 

Manages profession services contracts and consultant work agreements 

Reviews contracts and invoices to validate transactions prior to settlement 

Ensures invoicing is executed by authorized personnel with appropriate disbursement authorization 

Summarizes, interprets, and analyzes current and projected pricing for financial modeling use 

Prepares and presents contract reports to appropriate governance bodies and/or leadership 

Supports the development and negotiation of contract amendments, extensions, and new contracts 

Builds business cases, prepares recommendations and presents new project and initiative ideas 

Develops and manages scope, budget, and milestones of assigned projects 

Assists with garnering approval of final project from appropriate leaders and stakeholders 

Executes project and conducts periodic progress and tracking reviews using standard project management methods and tools, such as a Gantt chart 

Completes and closes Fuels, Water and/or Generation projects 

Provides support for legal and regulatory matters related to Fuels, Water, or Generation as a whole 

Prepares and edits testimony and/or interrogatory responses   for any legal or regulatory matters related to Fuels, Water, or Generation 

Collaborates with the Legal and Regulatory groups on any Fuels, Water or Generation related regulatory matters 

Coordinates, and manages stakeholder meetings 

Issues minutes, and action items from these meetings 

Closes on assigned action items 

Manages relationships with stakeholders 

Documents work processes and standard work instructions 

Understands industry best practices and implements into daily work 

Performs benchmarking as a method to understand current performance and act upon results 

Prepares and presents benchmarking reports to appropriate governance bodies 

Assists with developing asset plans and roadmaps 

Execute on the plans and roadmaps to assure the availability of the asset for future use by PNM 

Administers current services contracts and leases assuring they are current and in compliance 

Assists with mitigating risks of expiration and or compliance issues of current services contracts and leases 

Coordinates with owners, suppliers, and stakeholders responsible for these services contracts and leases to assure future use of the asset

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  

Bachelor¿s degree in a related field with six to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

Ability to respond effectively when working with data or sensitive inquiries 

Ability to speak clearly and listen effectively

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 

Ability to work with the concepts of probability, statistical inference, financial analysis, and fundamentals of plain and solid geometry and trigonometry 

Ability to apply the concepts of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations               

COMPUTER SKILLS: 

Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software   

ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:  

Ability to identify and resolve problems with minimal supervision 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to resolve problems

Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid and concrete conclusions that can be acted upon 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and/or walk up to 1/3 of the time and sit up to 2/3 of the time.  Manual dexterity required.  May be exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather).  Work near moving mechanical parts, in high and precarious places, and near fumes or airborne particles.  Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
