Regulatory Compliance Specialist

This position provides technical support and guidance in FDA, USDA, and CFIA label compliance regulations. This position works closely with other departments, including Legal, Marketing, Quality Assurance, and Operations, and will work with outside consultants as needed.  The individual will generate nutritional facts panels and ingredient statements for all B&G Foods products.  The individual must be capable of reviewing and validating the integrity of the label claim script; such as nutrient content, kosher, organic, and other claims.   The individual must ensure the products are not misbranded in any way.

Essential Duties:

  • Review and approve information for all aspects of finished product labels.
  • Create nutrition facts panels and ingredient statements in Genesis software.
  • Research federal regulations and agency requirements as necessary to validate product label compliance.
  • Stay abreast of FDA, USDA, and CFIA label regulations and policies via literature reviews and industry news.
  • Collaborate with and provide technical support to Marketing, Quality Assurance, Operations, Legal, and Consumer Affairs for label-related issues.
  • Interface with vendors, suppliers, outside labs, and consultants to obtain required documentation for label information validation.
  • Assist in data entry and maintenance of information in internal software systems.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition, chemistry, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in document control in an FDA-regulated environment.
  • Possess an interest in food regulation, food science, and nutrition.
  • Possess knowledge of scientific terminology in chemistry, food science, and nutrition.
  • Possess advanced knowledge and skills in using Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be able to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
  • Must be able to maintain the highest degree of ethics.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range:

$61,128.00 - $101,880.00

Final base pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to; role responsibilities, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and/or internal pay equity. Please keep in mind that we consider internal pay equity and hiring at the maximum of the salary range uncommon.
