*Job Summary*
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Psychiatrist / Medical Director to lead our behavioral health initiatives and oversee clinical operations within our mental health programs in this community. This pivotal role combines advanced psychiatric expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care across outpatient and inpatient settings. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for mental health advocacy, a comprehensive understanding of diverse psychiatric conditions, and a commitment to fostering a collaborative, patient-centered environment. As Medical Director, you will guide clinical teams, develop treatment protocols, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations to promote optimal mental health outcomes.

*Responsibilities*

* Provide expert psychiatric leadership by overseeing clinical teams and ensuring adherence to best practices in diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.
* Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including diagnostic evaluations for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, utilizing medical terminology and thorough documentation.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy modalities such as psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as well as psychopharmacology strategies.
* Lead crisis management efforts by responding to urgent mental health situations across inpatient and outpatient settings, including PTSD care and working with individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.
* Supervise medical documentation processes to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining accurate medical records, intake notes, and progress reports.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with developmental disabilities, addiction issues, or complex psychiatric needs.
* Promote staff development through training on medical terminology, data collection methods, telehealth best practices, and emerging psychiatric treatments.
* Engage in ongoing quality improvement initiatives focused on diagnostic evaluation accuracy and patient safety in both inpatient and outpatient environments.

*Qualifications*

* Medical degree (MD) with board certification in Psychiatry from an accredited program.
* Post-residency experience in behavioral health settings, including inpatient hospital experience preferred.
* Demonstrated expertise in pediatric psychiatry, geriatrics, addiction counseling, and working with people with developmental disabilities.
* Strong knowledge of, experience with or genuine interest in, interventional psychiatric treatments (TMS, Spravato, neuromodulation, etc.).
* Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology principles coupled with experience managing complex medication regimens.
* Experience providing mental health counseling across diverse populations including outpatient clinics and telehealth platforms.
* Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments while adhering to HIPAA standards for medical records management.
* Skilled in crisis management protocols for acute psychiatric episodes involving trauma or PTSD care.
* Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and community partners.
* Familiarity with medical documentation systems, diagnostic evaluation procedures, and data collection tools used in behavioral health settings.
