Position SummaryThe Nursing Student Success Facilitator serves as a primary academic support resource for prelicensure nursing students, including but not limited to Freshman Nursing Pathway (FNR) students. The Facilitator addresses barriers to academic success by working both proactively and reactively with students, faculty, and university support services to ensure a coordinated and well supported student experience.
This role is central to promoting recruitment, retention, persistence, academic progression, and NCLEX success through collaborative efforts with faculty and the Director of NCLEX Success. A primary focus of the role includes providing structured academic coaching and NCLEX readiness support. The position requires the ability to travel to all USF campuses as needed. The Nursing Student Success Facilitator reports directly to the Director of NCLEX Success.Bachelor's degree in Nursing and two years of relevant work experience in an academic setting

Responsibilities30% - Academic Success Coaching & Remediation
- Coordinate with the Director of NCLEX Success to conduct gap analyses, develop individualized success plans, monitor student progress, and document coaching activities.
- Engage students in early identification, intervention, remediation, and evidence-based academic success strategies to support retention, progression, and NCLEX outcomes.
- Meet 1:1 and/or in groups with students requiring remediation due to low performance on course examinations and/or standardized assessments to provide structured support and follow up.
- Maintain ongoing communication and monitor academic performance to identify challenges early.
- Refer students to appropriate academic and support resources (tutoring, advising, counseling, etc.) and collaborate with faculty, academic advisors, and the Director of NCLEX Success to accelerate academic improvement.
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure awareness of university- and college-level academic support services.
- Promote and support initiatives that prepare nursing students for the NCLEX exam.
- Support students in interpreting standardized assessment data (e.g., ATI or other NCLEX predictors) and developing remediation plans aligned with the NCLEX RN Blueprint and clinical judgement expectations.
25% - Student Support, Coaching, & Collaboration
- Work proactively and responsively with students, faculty, and support resources to provide a coordinated student experience across all USF campuses.
- Assist students in developing essential academic skills such as goal setting, learning strategies, time management, organization, and test-taking strategies.
- Encourage student accountability and proactive engagement in academic and NCLEX preparation activities.
- Evaluate student success strategies and initiative outcomes to inform improvements.
- Support recruitment, retention, persistence, and achievement goals through collaboration with faculty and the Director of NCLEX Success.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of college and university academic programs, policies, institutional procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations.
25% - Data Monitoring, Reporting, & Student Outreach
- Monitor, review, and analyze faculty intervention data and student participation in remediation, academic success services, and retention initiatives.
- Identify trends in student risk factors and escalate concerns to the Director of NCLEX Success to inform targeted outreach and remediation prioritization.
- Prepare detailed progress reports, including student interactions, success plans, and progress for the Director of NCLEX Success.
- Facilitate student success check-ins and coaching sessions.
- Conduct proactive outreach and respond promptly to student questions, concerns, and academic needs.
- Encourage student self-regulation, accountability, and ownership of academic performance.
15% - Academic Support Programming
- Develop and facilitate academic workshops, supplemental instruction sessions, academic coaching, and group study opportunities as needed, including programming that supports NCLEX readiness and clinical judgment development.
- Protect the confidentiality of all student information and ensure compliance with university policies and FERPA requirements.
5% - Other Duties
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
