PURPOSE: The Production manager will oversee the activities of the supervisory staff in charge of production. They will be responsible for the health, safety training and moral of the production employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Ensure production schedules and quality requirements are met.
- Handle collective agreement issues, including grievance matters.
- Review all aspects of departmental performance with respect to budget, finance plan, plant-operation goals, develop continuous improvement plans.
- Introduce team based manufacturing concepts to production employees.
- Member of Management Team responsible for planning budgeting, and implementing TQM and the 5S program.
- Responsible for maintaining safe work practices and safety oriented attitude in the plant.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Candidates must be able to demonstrate supervisory/managerial skills, including planning, leading, delegating, working knowledge of assembly operation process, cost center management including budgeting, cost reduction plans, and customer quality requirements.
- Knowledge of the requirements of collective agreements and health, safety and environment and employment legislation
Education:Bachelor degree in Industrial Management, Production Management, or Business related Manufacturing.
Experience:5 years of progressive managerial experience in manufacturing operation with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Skills: - Communication, Leadership, and Organization.
- Good computer skills.

Working Schedule: Standard work hours will consist of 9-10 hours per day, 5 days a week on an assigned shift. Schedule hours may be altered as required by the training needs of employees. Ability to work overtime or irregular hours to include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays as requested.
