Physical Requirements This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications). Shift Primarily Monday through Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm with occasional weekends and holidays. Job Summary Assists pharmacists in providing medications to patients in an inpatient hospital and outpatient infusion setting. Prepares and compounds individual patient doses, primarily sterile hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications for adult and pediatric populations in accordance with current USP guidelines. Maintains a sterile work environment with specified cleaning procedures. Assists pharmacists and other technicians with inventory management of materials and medications, as well as the delivery of medications to patients. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
