UI/UX Intern (Summer 2026 Internship Program)

Role Overview:

Brother International Corporation is recruiting for its Summer 2026 Internship Program.  This exciting opportunity provides selected undergraduate students with a PAID, summer-long experience. The program runs from Monday June 1 through Friday August 14, with optional opportunity to extend and start 1-2 weeks earlier and/or continue 1-2 weeks later, depending on your semester schedule and the needs of the business.  Eligible student applicants will be current sophomores and juniors (rising juniors and seniors respectively during the Summer 2026 program period), possess US work authorization, and be able to work full-time, following the expected schedule and on-site presence of the position. The objectives of the program are to provide meaningful work and projects for completion and to help Brother develop a strong pipeline of talent within our operating communities.

 

This role will be based at our Bridgewater, NJ location and follow a hybrid work schedule. You will be expected to be on site at least 3 days a week, based on business need, with assigned office days determined by the manager. #LI-Hybrid

Duties & Responsibilities:

As part of our commitment to ensuring that our summer interns are contributing to our business and completing meaningful work, below are some examples of the kind of projects you may be responsible for supporting this summer, dependent on business need and priorities.

 

    • Assist with user testing activities, including observing sessions, gathering feedback, and supporting interview preparation

    • Gain hands-on experience in a CMS by building and updating pages using structured components and templates

    • Contribute to UX design work by helping create wireframes, reviewing layouts, and supporting design system tasks

Experience & Qualifications:
  • Must be a present college sophomore or junior (rising junior or rising senior during the Summer 2026 program period) returning to an undergraduate program following the summer to be eligible
  • Target Major(s) or Fields of Study: Digital Media, Information Science, Communications, Marketing, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field with interest in CMS platforms, UX Design and digital content management.

 

Required Experience & Technical Skills:

    • Basic experience with content authoring or CMS management including building or updating web pages using a CMS (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or similar) and working with structured templates, components, images, and content fields

    • Basic understanding of UX/UI design principles including layout, hierarchy, visual balance, and user-centered thinking

    • Experience using design or content tools including tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD

    • Attention to detail and ability to follow structured workflows

    • Strong organization and collaboration skills including managing deadlines, tracking progress, and communicating when support is needed

 

Additional Preferred Experience & Technical Skills:

    • Experience with information architecture or content structuring

    • Ability to interpret wireframes or create low-fidelity prototypes, translating requirements into simple layout sketches or reviewing wireframes for usability

    • Understanding of basic user research methods

    • Interest in design systems or component-based UX

    • Exposure to analytics or behavior insights and ability to look at basic metrics (e.g., click-through, scroll depth, engagement) to inform UX decisions or content placement
