Director of Maintenance Planning

SummaryThe Director of Maintenance Planning is responsible for consistently leading the business unit in providing a safe and airworthy fleet that routinely and consistently meets the schedule demands. They are also responsible for building a cohesive, highly motivated team that is mission-oriented, disciplined in their approach, effective under pressure, and committed to the daily mechanical readiness of the fleet. Plus, the Director reviews projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports. They develop and execute strategies to optimize the management of Material Planning, Line Maintenance Planning, Heavy Maintenance Planning, Tool Planning, and Maintenance Programs within Allegiants Maintenance and Engineering department. The Director will also direct the performance of special projects that provide continuous improvement to Allegiants Maintenance and Engineering department, all while ensuring a high level of service is provided to front-line maintenance and other customers as intended. The Director of Maintenance Planning continuously leads the efforts of cultivating a strong culture of safety across the organization.

Preferred RequirementsMaster's Degree.Previous leadership roles in operations management and/or planning with experience in analytical modeling, programming, Financial, and/or vendor management.Experience with Maintenance Systems.
Job DutiesLead the strategy and vision to achieve the functions mission, along with communicating them down through the organization. Facilitate the resolution of issues within the department and across functions by lending expertise and actively directing the process of problem-solving.Oversee the preparation of budgets, monitor monthly activity, and report on results. Provide leadership to Materials Planning, Line Maintenance Planning, Heavy Maintenance Planning, Tool Maintenance Planning, Maintenance Programs, and Maintenance/Financial Analytics. Select managers and mentor them to improve their performance. Assist them in establishing their goals and objectives. Assure the appropriate training, assistance, coordination and time are available to carry out the objectives; re-prioritize as necessary. Interface with the Managing Directors & Directors within Maintenance &Technical Operations, Materials, Stores, and Finance to assure the efficacy of planning decisions. Advise upper management on key issues and keep the Senior Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering informed on progress in each area, particularly as it affects the departments commitments. Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities as appropriate. Model Allegiants customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction. Other duties as assigned.

May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 100 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to extreme noise (i.e. airport with planes, vehicles, and other machinery), temperature, wind, and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Travel is a requirement of the role.
