Department: Registrar Salary: $12.00 per hour
Description:

The Texas Work Study Registrar's Office serves as the first point of contact for students, visitors, and guests, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations within the department.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Greets students, visitors, and guests at the front counter
• Answer department phone calls, take accurate messages, and provide general information.
• Respond to student inquiries regarding academic and student records
• Enters information into applicable databases
• Assists in collecting forms and supporting documentation from students
• Perform clerical tasks such as copying, scanning, filing, printing, auditing, and logging front counter interactions
• Serves as liaison between students and staff
• Assists the office staff as needed
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities
• Runs errands to various departments and locations on campus
• Performs opening and/or closing procedures
• Available to work up to 20 hours a week, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:45 AM and 6:00 PM.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with students, faculty, and staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); comfort with digital tools and platforms is a plus
• Reliable, punctual, and organized with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable learning new tasks and taking initiative
• Positive Attitude and Professional Experience
• Performs opening and closing procedures and follows all UHD emergency procedures

This position requires the highest level of confidentiality and discretion. The individual is expected to protect and handle all sensitive information, including enrollment records, student information, and official documents, with the utmost care. Unauthorized disclosure of confidential information is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Qualifications

• Must be a current UHD student
• Ability to work 20 hours per week
• Must be awarded Texas Work-Study from the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid
• Must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher
