The Mercer County Library System is seeking a part-time 19 hour per week position in the Adult Reference Department at the Ewing Branch. This position requires two evenings per week as well as weekend hours. Other hours to be scheduled. Please note that the Ewing Branch is open on Sundays throughout the school year, and four County-observed holidays, and applicants must be available to work on some of them. An MLS/MLIS degree form an accredited institution and a New Jersey Librarian’s Certification are required. Students enrolled in an MLS program with a significant amount of coursework completed may also be considered. We are seeking an energetic graduate student currently enrolled in an MLS/MLIS program, with a passion for adult services and a strong commitment to providing excellent public service. The candidate should be open to scheduling in-person and virtual programming at days and times that adults will find convenient, and expect to participate in outreach in the community.  Willingness to be part of a team environment and collaborate with the youth services and circulation departments is a must, as is strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
