Job Summary:

Control Solutions Group, Inc., an EMCOR Group company, seeks an Low Voltage Installation Specialist to join our Salt Lake City, Utah team. 

 

In this role, the Low Voltage Installation Specialist assists in the installation of the physical infrastructure of advanced building automation systems, including conduit, wire, and sensors. This role provides hands-on experience in field installations and opportunities to learn and grow within our company.

 

Experience with controls, BMS, BAS, DDC, Building Automation, Building Management, EPMS and Energy Management Systems is preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in installations at various new construction and retrofit project sites across Utah, primarily along the Wasatch Front.
• Assist in the installation of low voltage conduit and cabling, including pulling, terminating, and labeling.
• Assist in the installation of building automation control devices and sensors, such as thermostats, dampers, and flow meters.
• Assist with point-to-point check-outs, basic diagnostic, and maintenance procedures on building automation systems, front-end workstations, and DDC Controls, under the guidance of senior technicians.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing building automation system panels, including communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.
• Collaborate with other technicians and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review project documents and assist in identifying approved scope, confirming with senior technicians or Project Manager.
• Assist in maintaining project-related documentation, including commissioning documentation, daily reports, and as-builts.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance job skills and stay informed about industry changes.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience in low voltage installations, preferably in building automation systems, including conduit bending, wire pulling, and termination.
• Basic understanding of electrical codes and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and a history of safe driving practices.
• Willingness to travel within the state of Utah for project assignments, including occasional overnight stays.

Physical Demands:

• Routine Lifting: Ability to routinely lift and carry objects weighing less than 20 pounds and occasionally carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Working from Heights: This position will require working from ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
