Assistant Professor - Spanish Linguistics

Job Description

The Department of World Languages at the University of South Florida invites applications for a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track position in Spanish Linguistics at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 7, 2027. Salary is negotiable.Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Spanish Linguistics, Applied Linguistics (Spanish-language focus) or a closely related field by August 7, 2027. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.

Native or near-native command of Spanish. Excellent communication skills in English.

Active research agenda.

Experience teaching at the university level.

Preferred Qualifications:

A record of publication.

Research focus on the Caribbean and/or the Spanish-speaking world in the Western Hemisphere.

Demonstrated success in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses.
