Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Automation Packer is responsible for cleaning, painting, inspecting, and packaging fabricated piece parts in accordance with the specifications and requirements outlined on each piece ticket as the parts are processed through and discharged from the automation line

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Packer:

• Pack and label all piece parts in accordance with requirements on piece ticket

• Select the correct packing materials such as skids, paper, corner boards, license plate

• Conduct a final inspection on each piece for dimensional and visual quality before packing

• Understands the correct pack sequence per job order on each packing line.

• Maintain or exceed expected output on pieces per hour

• Follow all safety and quality standards

• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures

• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to demonstrate comprehension of positional work instructions

• Ability to use a calibrated tape measure and identify standard and metric units based on ticket requirements

• Able to operate nail/Staple guns correctly

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Capable of becoming forklift certified

• Able to work overtime including weekends

• Ability to learn AUTOMATION Software and perform basic computer functions

• Ability to effectively communicate within a team

• Ability to collect and document all needed data at assigned workstation using the appropriate forms

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GED

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 months experience Basic PC knowledge

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours

• Ability to walk and move between workstations for extended periods throughout the shift

• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, tooling, and parts up to 40-50 lbs on a regular basis

• Sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate controls. Handle precision tools, and load/unload parts

• Adequate vision-corrected or uncorrected- to read measurement tools and inspect parts (including close- up and depth perception)

• Ability to tolerate working near running machinery, coolant systems, and moderate noise levels, with proper PPE

• Ability to remain focused and attentive while performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production

environment
