Dryland Instructor

Job Description

We are a USA Swimming club dedicated to providing safe, professional, and caring instruction for athletes and their families. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Dry land Instructor to join our team and support our growing program.

Compensation & Benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead dry land strength and conditioning sessions for swimmers aged 9–18

  • Maintain a safe environment through effective group management and clear instruction

  • Manage equipment setup and tear down before and after each session

  • Design and adapt fitness programming tailored to the developmental needs of each age group

  • Support injury prevention by focusing on general conditioning and joint mobility

  • Communicate clearly and positively with parents, swimmers, and coworkers

  • Commit to scheduled training sessions (Monday–Thursday, 4:45 PM – 6:45 PM)

  • Adhere to team attire guidelines during instruction hours (e.g., provided team shirt)

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications

  • Passion for working with children

  • Patient, caring, responsible, and energetic

  • Strong desire to learn and grow (prior experience is preferred, but willing to train qualified candidates)

  • Ability to teach independently

  • Ability to work 2-hour shifts across 4 days per week

  • Reliable transportation and punctuality

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience training youth athletes, particularly in sports involving high shoulder usage

  • Relevant fitness certifications (e.g., NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM)

  • Competitive swimming background

  • Experience working with athletes with diverse learning needs or adaptive sports backgrounds
