Job Description

Job Purpose/Scope:

Provide industrial engineering services for process, product, methods and materials development to the Zinc Products facility and its customers.  Primary focus is to determine accurate and realistic cost and run rate information, enter this information correctly into Epicor, and assist in the engineering of new part masters.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

75%

60%     Create all new purchased and manufactured Part numbers and Methods of Manufacturing (MOMs) in MRP for all new sales items for:  1) Architectural business, 2) Industrial business, 3) Coinage business, and Research and Development projects including setting standard costs with accounting.  Investigates and adjusts existing Bill-of-Materials and production routes to make more accurate.

20%     Create all new purchased and manufactured Part numbers and Methods of Manufacturing (MOMs) in MRP for all new sales items, identify new Parts by line items on P.O.s to assist sales with Order Entry and proof CAD drawings for the Cathodic business.

15%     Execute PPCR (Product-Process Change Request) approved changes in MRP for continuous improvement goals.

5%       Create new resource groups in ERP for new equipment and sub-contractor operations for new products and processes.  Assign new sub-contractors in MRP to MOM subcontractor operations including standard costs and lead-time.

Secondary Functions

Support other departments with continuous improvement projects.

Assists with Best Practice team projects and meetings.

 

Competencies:

Education

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering or Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.

Experience

  1. Five or more years of Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  3. Experience with MRP systems and product costing methods.
