Lutron has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Designer at our Engineering office in Austin TX. In this role, you will be an integral member of our Engineering team, contributing to the design, development, and support of innovative products. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem solver who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about supporting existing products while helping bring new product designs from concept to reality.
Modeling of custom mechanical parts, assemblies, and tools in Creo
Perform hands-on tasks such prototype building and validation testing
Prototype and implement design tweaks to improve design quality and facilitate easier assembly
Source prototype components using our 3D printers, from our in-house machine shop or nearby vendors
Support documentation and part specification for existing and new products
Part verification and documentation of assembly tolerance stack analysis
Multi task at a high level; manage multiple projects and priorities in parallel
Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to gain consensus on part changes
