Staff Psychologist

Job Description

The University of Vermont Health Network seeks a Staff Psychologist to provide evidence-based assessment, psychotherapy, and consultation within our academic health system. Working in a collaborative, patient-centered environment, you will support diverse patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, contribute to interdisciplinary care planning, and participate in teaching and supervision. This role offers access to advanced medical resources, opportunities for research and quality improvement, and meaningful impact on community mental health in Vermont and northern New York.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment for diverse patient populations in inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other clinicians to develop integrated, patient-centered care plans
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis interventions as needed
  • Document care in the electronic health record in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards
  • Participate in teaching, supervision, and mentoring of trainees and interdisciplinary team members
  • Engage in quality improvement, program development, or research activities aligned with the academic mission
  • Contribute to an inclusive, learning-focused culture that supports diverse patients and staff
  • Maintain compliance with ethical, legal, and professional practice standards
