Integration AMO Physicist - 935

We are seeking an Integration AMO Physicist in our Brooklyn Park, MN location. In this role, you will serve as a key contributor integrating and validating Quantinuum’s state of the art trapped ion quantum computer systems, working independently with limited supervision. You will apply your deep expertise of quantum, atomic, and optical, and device physics to integrate and validate our machines with cross-functional engineering teams, where your role will be to act as the subject matter expert on the device and related qubit physics and as well as the concept of operations that dictates dictating subsystem requirements. In addition to driving technical execution, you may lead small projects, collaborate with external partners, and represent Quantinuum through publications, presentations, and scientific engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team of physicists and engineers integrating and validating Quantinuum’s state of art quantum computer hardware assemblies
  • Design and execute validation test plans as a physics subject matter expert on high fidelity and technical operations on ion-trap qubit system
  • Contribute to future quantum computer integration design and requirements

MUST HAVE:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years of Physicist experience in a research and development environment or integrating and validating complex technical hardware
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

WE VALUE:

  • PhD or advanced experience in Physics, Applied Physics, Mathematics Chemistry, or a related Engineering field preferred.
  • Experience with quantum computing hardware.
  • Strong, self-starting laboratory test and measurement experience
  • Expertise in a specialized Atomic and Molecular Optics technical domain.
  • Experience in building, operating, and maintaining complex scientific apparatuses involving ultra-high vacuum, RF and microwave, electronic, laser and optical, and cryogenic subsystems.
  • Experience working as part of a team maintaining and developing custom software codebases via version control and git tracking best practices.
  • Experience leading technical workstreams or small projects.
  • Strong analytical and computational skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this role is $132,000 - $165,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
