Clark University's Department of Visual and Performing Arts seeks an experienced and collaborative Theater Technical Director to play a central role in bringing theatrical productions, performances, and student creative work to life.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a technical theatre professional who enjoys the full range of production work, from scenic construction and lighting to audio, video, rigging, and shop operations, and who is equally energized by working with students. The Technical Director oversees Clark's primary theatre and production spaces, supports departmental productions from concept through execution, and helps students develop the practical skills and confidence to turn creative ideas into successful performances.

Work Environment
This is primarily an on-site position due to the hands-on nature of theatrical production and student support. Some pre- and post-production work may be completed remotely when appropriate and in coordination with departmental leadership.
The position requires the ability to work within theatre, backstage, and scene-shop environments and to lift up to 25 pounds.

Expected Hiring Range: $60,900 to $78,650

The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget, internal equity, and the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related credentials. This range represents Clark University's good-faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting consistent with Clark's compensation philosophy and internal alignment.
