POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the Executive Director Clinical Services, the Senior Counselor is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in the daily operation standards of the unit. Will be responsible for maintaining unit standards in the absence of the Supervisor.Assist with the coordination of caseload assignments, conducts orientation of new clients to the Outpatient program, in training new hires with the minimum of 15 clients with emphasis placed on individual and group counseling, didactics, referral systems and use of DSM and LOC Also, coordinates department program schedules to ensure the needs and goals set by the Individual Written Program Plan are met. Ensuring the needs and goals set by the Individual Written Program Plan are met. Helping with SMART documentation and familiarity for service input and other entry level trainings. Working with the Supervisor in peer and chart reviews, and assuring HIPPA regulations are adhered to.Provide input on staff annual evaluations. Facilitating the Multidisciplinary team when assigned in addition to coordinating the scheduling of clients for presentation. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: New Jersey certificate in addictions treatment such as the CADC or LCADC with a minimum of three years in the field of alcoholism and substance abuse.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years in the field of alcoholism and substance abuse.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

WORK ENVIRONMENT This position requires repetitive motion, hearing, pushing, reaching, and reading, seeing, speaking, standing and walking a majority of the time. Spends time with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, copier, and telephone. Essential functions of this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP This position reports to department leadership.
