Position Overview

As a School Personal Care Assistant, you will provide one-on-one support to students who require assistance with educational participation, behavioral support, mobility, and personal care needs throughout the school day.

You will work closely with teachers, school staff, and families to help students achieve their educational and developmental goals in a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one support to assigned student(s) throughout the school day
Assist students in participating successfully in classroom activities
Support implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and adaptive equipment as needed
Provide personal care assistance, including toileting and hygiene support
Observe and report changes in student behavior, health, or performance
Reinforce positive behaviors and assist with redirection when necessary
May accompany students during transportation or school activities as assigned
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
High School Diploma or GED required
Experience working with children, individuals with disabilities, or special needs populations preferred
Previous experience as a PCA, CNA, HHA, Paraprofessional, Behavioral Health Technician, or caregiver is a plus
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
Basic computer skills preferred
Successful completion of required background checks, onboarding, and training requirements
