The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in supporting the pharmacy team by assisting the pharmacist in daily operations in accordance with Florida law. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management while maintaining a high level of efficiency and attention to detail.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida
At least one year of pharmacy technician experience
One year of formal education or training beyond high school
Strong math, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Pharmacy Technician Certified
Maintain National Pharmacy Technician Certification

Responsibilities
Accurately prepare and fill patient medication orders and stock requisitions
Perform AcuDose functions, including refills, returns, and reporting, without discrepancies
Enter and manage medication orders using pharmacy systems such as PowerChart and PharmNet
Process charges and credits accurately and maintain proper documentation
Support medication delivery and ensure timely distribution throughout the facility
Assist with inventory management, including order check-in, stock replenishment, and returned medication processing
Maintain and operate pharmacy equipment, including computers, printers, pneumatic tube systems, and automation technology
Utilize pharmacy automation systems such as Robot, ConnectRX, Med Carousel, and NarcStation
Communicate effectively by routing clinical questions to pharmacists and addressing general inquiries appropriately
Collaborate with pharmacists and team members to support workflow across all pharmacy areas
Identify opportunities for improvement and provide feedback on processes, concerns, or patient needs
Advanced Responsibilities (Post-Competency Completion)
Compound IV admixtures using proper aseptic technique
Utilize IV automation systems safely and accurately
Support onboarding and training of new pharmacy team members
Maintain required competencies, including cytotoxic and medium-risk compounding
