Customer Service Representative

Job Description

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative to join our team in Houston, Texas.

Summary
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for all telephone, e-mail, online chat, and in-person account maintenance. The CSR is responsible for accurately opening accounts, explaining policies and procedures, and processing payment information. This responsibility includes ensuring service requirements are protected and accounted for in accordance with set standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Accurately explain the terms/conditions and policies/procedures relating to the account.
  • Assist customers with the account opening process.
  • Perform account maintenance, including but not limited to account changes, adjustments, payments, etc.
  • Consistently meet or exceed performance goals/metrics to ensure the highest quality of service is provided to the customer.
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance process: call monitoring and auditing of work performed.
  • Ready to take calls and start work exactly at the start of shift, with computer logged in and phone system ready.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Must be willing and able to work a rotating weekend schedule.
  • Adhere to structured break and lunch schedules.
  • Must remain professional under every circumstance with customers and colleagues.
  • Perform other duties as directed by TransCore management.

Requirements and Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Proficient computer and typing skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires frequent use of keyboard and mouse, must be able to wear a headset for prolonged periods. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
