SummaryAmerican Fan has an opportunity for a Shipping Lead, based in our Fairfield, OH facility. In this role, you will execute the daily schedule with their team, serve as a trainer, fill in for operators who are on vacation or when demand increases, and work with the supervisor to improve safety quality, on time delivery, and productivity of their team. This person will be able to work independently and lead or support a team when needed. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and be able to develop binding relationships across all functional areas within the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities - Maintain team training and compliance records.
- Manage daily email communication with internal teams and vendors.
- Oversee OSP operations, including truck dispatching and daily schedules.
- Serve as primary point of contact in a high-traffic shipping office, answering questions and resolving issues.
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Finance on shipment and invoicing issues.
- Lead daily department meetings; review EHS alerts, toolbox topics, and update safety/JSA boards.
- Manage keys, vehicle logs, offsite warehouse access, and forklift charging compliance.
- Audit 5S, review change orders, approve time in Ceridian, and manage L4 data and vacation schedules.
- Enter and track purchase requisitions and logistics spend to stay within budget.
- Maintain visitor logs, skid and packaging consumables inventory, and lumber/wood rack offload/loading.
- Plan, package, crate, and process all daily shipments in ERP/D365, including UPS/WorldShip orders.
- Ensure packing slips, BOLs, labels, and documentation are accurate, provided to carriers, and properly filed.
- Coordinate with carriers and customer contacts to schedule and monitor shipments; review shipped-not-invoiced orders weekly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications - 2+ years manufacturing experience.
- Able to learn all area positions and train operators.
- Knowledge of key manufacturing KPIs (productivity, utilization, efficiency).
- Understanding of production, inventory management, quality systems, and purchasing.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and basic math skills.
- Able to organize and manage multiple projects and people.
- Familiar with ERP/MRP systems and lean principles.
