As a Production Technician I, you’ll test, troubleshoot, disassemble, and prepare enterprise IT equipment for its next life. No prior data center experience? That’s okay. We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, curiosity, and a desire to learn. You’ll receive hands-on training from an experienced mentor and be supported by a collaborative team that’s invested in your success from day one.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active throughout the day, doesn’t mind repetitive work when it leads to quality results, and is motivated to continually improve their skills and performance.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Re-qualify, refurbish, and stress-test servers, disk arrays, and networking equipment across multiple OEM brands using specialized diagnostic tools
  • Inspect and recertify individual or defective parts, performing root-cause problem determination and hardware resolution when necessary
  • Efficiently disassemble tested systems into individual spare parts, ensuring proper inventory preparation
  • Properly tag, bag, and document all tested and approved spare parts according to company standards
  • Assist various operational teams in testing and configuring server, storage and networking product lines in support of service and sales
  • Actively collaborate and contribute within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Contribute to the development of processes to increase throughput efficiency
  • Partner with the planning and procurement groups to resolve parts-related queries and support supply chain efficiency
  • Investigate specific hardware or software issues to identify root causes, develop alternative solutions, and participate in post-mortem analysis meetings with L3 Support and R&D teams
  • Perform other duties and technical tasks as assigned to support business needs
  • Continuously develop technical skills and expertise

 

What We're Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A personal interest in tinkering with electronics, building computers, working on vehicles, or understanding of how mechanical or electronic systems work
  • Ability to tackle new technical problems and equipment
  • Ability to be nimble and work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs

 

Bonus Points:

  • 1-3 years of experience repairing, assembling, testing, or troubleshooting electronics, computers, servers, or similar equipment
  • Unix & Red Hat. A+, Server, Storage & Network + certifications, CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, MCP, knowledge of CLI (Command Line Interface)
  • Working knowledge of disk storage hardware and software products preferred
