Research Support Assistant

Job Description

The role involves participant outreach, informed consent, survey administration, data entry, chart review, shipping supplies, and responding to participant questions and concerns. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in person, communicating by phone, and managing program documentation and data with attention to detail.

Position is grant funded

Position will require a level II Background check and drug screen.Requires High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of experience. Higher education may substitute for the experience.

SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements

• A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an
alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
• (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
• (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
• (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;
• (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
• (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration
required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the
advertised description of the position of employment.

  • Recruit and obtain consent from eligible participants in clinical and community settings, including the Tampa General Hospital- Women's Center and designated outreach events.
  • Explain the program activities and services to potential participants, answer questions, and support informed consent and enrollment procedures in accordance with program protocols.
  • Send, distribute, and track participant surveys, including NAS surveys, and follow up with clients as needed to support completion.
  • Serve as a point of contact for participants by phone, addressing questions, concerns, and routine program-related needs in a professional and timely manner.
  • Conduct chart review and abstract relevant clinical information from the medical record (EPIC) as needed for program documentation and reporting.
  • Enter, update, and maintain participant data in REDCap, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
  • Prepare, organize, track, and ship program supplies and materials to participants' locations as needed.
  • Participate in community outreach events and other program activities as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with institutional, programmatic, and confidentiality requirements, including appropriate handling of participant information and study materials.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of program goals.
