About the Role As the Creative Director for Yahoo Search and Mail, you will shape the creative vision and drive marketing strategies that elevate these essential products. Reporting to the Head of Marketing Studio, you'll partner closely with the Yahoo Search and Mail teams at every phase-from strategic planning and briefing to execution of fully integrated campaigns. You're a player-coach: inspiring your team while rolling up your sleeves when needed. You know great creative when you see it, and you understand how to turn ideas into work that feels fresh, impactful, and on-brand. Your experience spans multi-channel campaigns, including video and upper-funnel activations, and you're skilled at guiding work from concept to execution.
Key Responsibilities- Creative Leadership: Guide the team to develop innovative campaigns that reflect the brand's identity and connect with users. Elevate work from good to exceptional through your taste, judgment, and feedback, while balancing vision with precision-ensuring every touchpoint, from copy to design to execution, meets the highest standards.
- Creative Brief Development: Craft and refine briefs that set clear objectives, inspire bold ideas, and provide actionable direction.
- Campaign Development: Lead the conception and execution of multi-channel campaigns, including digital display, social, email marketing, and video storytelling.
- Brand Alignment: Oversee all creative outputs to ensure they meet brand standards, visual storytelling excellence, and audience engagement goals.
- Cross-Functional & Strategic Partnering: Partner closely with Product Marketing, Product Design, and Engineering to craft actionable, strategic creative briefs. Represent design and branding at the highest strategic levels to build cross-functional consensus.
- Agency & Partner Management: Build strong partnerships with agency teams, ensuring work exceeds expectations and aligns with strategic goals.
- Trend Monitoring & Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and creative innovations to keep campaigns fresh, relevant, and competitive. Formulate ethical guidelines for how the creative team leverages AI platforms to maintain brand integrity and avoid market redundancy.
Qualifications- 10+ years of creative leadership experience in digital media, advertising, or consumer tech, with a proven history of shaping high-level brand visions.
- A portfolio showing exceptional visual taste, multi-channel campaign leadership, and master-level execution across video, digital, and upper-funnel brand initiatives.
- Deep experience establishing strategic design and storytelling systems for complex consumer tech products (ideally communication or utility tools).
- An AI-forward, continuous-learning mindset with a demonstrated openness to experimentation, adapting to rapidly evolving creative technologies, and utilizing AI as a force multiplier for creative expression.
- Proven experience driving cross-team alignment on complex projects, negotiating through conflicting stakeholder feedback to establish clear creative pathways.
- Skilled in modern design and collaboration environments (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Exceptional communication and narrative skills, with the ability to articulate deep strategic rationale behind creative choices to senior business leaders.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, Advertising, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

The compensation for this position ranges from $129,210.00 - $281,305.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
