Project Engineer I

Job Description

Join a highly engaged and collaborative engineering team where you’ll help imagine, design, and develop innovative products and systems. As a Project Engineer I, you will work across Honeywell Aerospace engineering groups to support solutions that meet evolving customer needs. In this entry-level role, you will contribute to all phases of product development and learn from experienced professionals whose expertise ensures the success of complex engineering projects and programs.

You will report directly to our Project Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our South Bend, IA location on a hybrid work schedule.


Responsibilities
  • Track and manage project tasks to support timely and efficient project execution.
  • Support product qualification and testing activities to ensure product performance and reliability requirements are met.
  • Communicate project status updates to customers, ensuring clarity and transparency.
  • Lead and execute product change activities in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare technical documentation to support compliance, traceability, and project execution.


Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–4 years of engineering experience, including internships or co‑ops, with exposure to customer interaction or project support activities.
  • Self‑motivated individuals who can work independently and take initiative to solve problems proactively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information to varied audiences.
