Job Description

 The Principal Cyber Capability Development Engineer provides advanced engineering expertise supporting the research, design, development, testing, and operational deployment of cyberspace capabilities for United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM). This position develops innovative technical solutions supporting offensive and defensive cyberspace operations while collaborating closely with government engineers, mission operators, and research organizations.
The successful candidate serves as a senior technical contributor responsible for solving highly complex engineering problems across software, embedded systems, networking, and cyber capability development.


Salary Range: $210-220k



Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain advanced cyber capabilities. 
• Conduct software engineering supporting mission-critical cyber operations. 
• Perform systems engineering, capability prototyping, testing, and technical validation. 
• Research emerging technologies supporting cyber mission requirements. 
• Support vulnerability analysis, reverse engineering, and technical assessments. 
• Develop custom software, automation tools, and engineering solutions. 
• Collaborate with operational users to improve mission capabilities. 
• Produce technical documentation supporting engineering activities. 
• Support prototype demonstrations, capability transitions, and operational fielding. 
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across development efforts. 


Required Qualifications: 

• 15+ years demonstrated experience supporting cyber capability development or cyber engineering. 
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical discipline. 
• Active TS/SCI with current CI Polygraph. 
• Experience developing software solutions supporting classified mission environments. 
• Experience supporting systems engineering and technical integration activities. 
• Strong analytical and software development skills.
