Job Description:
- You'll create basic to moderately complex designs of electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems, and other similar electrical systems with collaborative support.
- You'll conduct studies and electrical calculations for power systems, lighting simulations, lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm, security, and similar technical areas.
- You'll develop white papers and technical documentation to support the firm's technical knowledge management (TKM), and conduct site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location specifications.
- Updates design requirements as necessary.
- You'll contribute to the firm's knowledge base by developing white papers and technical design documentation for new or special case designs and studies.
- Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
- Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
- Performs other duties as required.
- You'll mentor junior team members through technical guidance, training, and collaborative work reviews.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) software including 3D and 4D modeling and best practices.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft business software such as Excel and Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline.
- 3 years of related experience.
- Equivalent related experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading industrial electrical engineering teams.
- Familiarity with FEL and FEED delivery processes.
- Experience with progressive design-build and design-build delivery methods.
- Ability to obtain multi-state licensing.
- Experience designing medium and low-voltage power systems for O&G, Power Generation, water, wastewater, federal, and Manufacturing.

Additional Compensation :
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.

USD $82,576.00
Pay Range Max:
USD $136,240.00
