As a Mechanical Test Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, you will be part of a team responsible for the design, development and implementation of test systems and test processes for aerospace systems and components. You will make an impact on enhancing the performance and safety of Honeywell aerospace systems by executing, coordinating and supporting test activities and projects that ensure product quality, functionality and reliability.


Responsibilities
  • Performs and coordinates test design, development and/or analysis functions on advanced engineering test projects.
  • Support the design and/or development of test systems for new products and unique equipment to meet specific requirements of customer orders.
  • Develops and assesses equipment, tooling gages, or acceptance equipment and processing methods required to test complex components and assemblies.
  • Coordinates acquisition of resources, parts and techniques.
  • Participates in establishing and following operating procedures on new test systems and components.
  • Plans and performs engineering test programs and uses project management tools
  • Interacts with design agencies and suppliers to assist in resolving test design, test development, and acceptance issues.
  • Assist in preparing evaluation reports, analyzes discrepancies, makes recommendations for and initiates improvements for test equipment, procedures, or operating processes that improve productivity and quality and reduce process time.
  • May assist in compiling cost estimates and delivery quotations, monitors performance, and prepares reports, statistics, and recommendations for management review.
  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HSE&F requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment. Takes actions necessary to 'stop' work when an unsafe condition or action is identified.
  • May perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
MUST HAVE
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or related discipline
  • BS Degree with 2+ years of related Mechanical, Systems and/or Test Engineering experience; OR MS Degree with related co-op, internship and/or project experience.


  • Experience with any of the following is of value:
    • Designing and/or testing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, heat exchangers, motor controllers, high-speed turbo-machinery components or related systems
    • Experience transferable to designing mechanical and test facility systems required to test aerospace systems and components.
    • Experience taking test requirements and designing a reliable test system, defining internal requirements for mechanical, instrumentation and data acquisition equipment required for the total test system
    • Project Engineering or Project Management experience.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

The annual base salary range for this position is $92,900 - $116,200. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
